US richest families acquire 75% of total household wealth

A research conducted by Deutsche Bank economist Torsten Slok has found that the richest 10% of U.S. families own 75 percent of the total household wealth.

The richest families’ wealth totaled $51 trillion, which represents 75 percent of total household wealth, compared to the U.S. GDP in 2016 worth $18.5 trillion.

The inequality gap has widened overtime, as incomes in the top 0.001 percent starta climbed 636 percent between 1980 and 2014, while the bottom 50 percent of population witnessed no change in their incomes, Research from Berkeley economists showed.
